The Name

With the historical bank heritage leading back to the 1950’s we wanted to create a name that kept in line with the building, and as the bank vaults were still intact, we felt it only fitting to brand our restaurant ‘Vaultz’.
With the importance of Basingstoke’s history, using one of the bank’s vaults we have incorporated a stylish venue for private members, and as we care about the historical element, we have incorporated the vault doors in our décor which is a stunning feature of the restaurant!

Location

Our location at No. 2 Winchester Street is a special one.  A grade II listed building in a conservation area and one of Basingstoke’s oldest banks we aim to provide the top of Basingstoke town a taste of sophistication, transforming this elegant building into a fine-dining experience complimenting other local establishments.

Having a project to transform a bank into a fine-dining restaurant wasn’t easy however, having a great team of architects and a modest building team of amazing professionals Vaultz has now been born!

History

Vaultz Restaurant & Cocktail Bar is owned by Ernie Phelps a local businessman in Basingstoke.  What makes this more special is Ernie grew up in Basingstoke and understands how local communities work and come together.

Ernie and his team have previously created a successful Basingstoke Brand ‘Plush Lounge Bar’ which has now been operating for over the last 13 years.

Plush is a thriving cocktail bar/nightclub and is the No. 1 late-night destination in Basingstoke and has attracted exciting artists, DJs and celebrities from around the world. Formally a 21+ venue, Plush has accommodated a slightly younger 18+ crowd which has led to further recent success.

Opening a fine dining restaurant in Basingstoke has always been in the pipeline for Ernie however, finding the right venue to deliver the wow factor to meet Ernie’s exceedingly high standards has taken time.

Simply put – Vaultz is set to be another venue, that Basingstoke and the surrounding areas can be proud of.

We welcome families including children however our bar area will be reserved for over 25s only on Friday and Saturday nights after 10pm.

A la carte style menu encapsulating some of the best dishes from all over the world.  The sophistication of fine dining fusion, with an atmosphere provided with live artist performances and DJs playing lower-level music.

Our late-night license ensures that the party carries on.

Space for intimate bookings, private parties, and a reserved area for members only.
